Interesting. I wonder if this will come in any shape or form to England.

I really hope this release will include a subbed version too.

Is this the first show that GKIDS has released? I feel like I mostly see them doing movies.

They've released "Ronja the Robber's Daughter," as well as plans to release Neon Genesis Evangelion TV show on bluray (still would like some more info on that and when it's coming).
Anyways, really glad this is finally coming to NA, it seems like it's been released just about everywhere else in the world before NA. Hope they'll also stream it (preferably on Netflix but I guess Hbo Max would be fine too but would screw the Canadians).

They do usually do movies, but this'll be the fourth show under their umbrella. Their first was a Belgian one named A Town Called Panic and then they did Ronja the Robber's Daughter. They've also gotten the rights to a physical Evangelion release that's still in limbo and this will be their fourth. Might be the third to actually be released though if only because Khara seems to be getting increasingly picky and slow-moving about licenses from them.

Oh, my. It... It finally happened. How exciting! I've wanted to own a copy of Conan for years. Thank you so much, GKIDS!

It's like the Macross deal between Big West and Hamony Gold broke a magical barrier and now every anime title that used to be impossible to license is getting licensed. This is an excellent show, and I'm glad more people will get to watch it all over the world.

Man, GKids, are you suddenly wanting to become the new Discotek or something? Because I'm all for it! I know a lot of people who love this show, so they'll be amazed to be able to watch this. But I have to wonder what convinced them to give it a new English dub, as most companies don't bother to do that nowadays for anything really old. Even Discotek and Right Stuf said dubbing older shows is a money sink, even if they're super popular (Rose of Versailles, anyone?).

The article doesn't mention a dub-only release, only that a new English dub will be included, so this will obviously be a dual-audio release.

This is definitely going to be 1 of the oldest anime to receive an Eng. dub in recent years.

I don't think it's too surprising. GKIDS generally aims for recognizable titles or titles from recognizable talent that can be more easily marketed towards a mainstream audience. A dub definitely helps with the marketing, especially if they're gonna slap Miyazaki's name on the cover.

I know GKIDS has licensed a couple tv series before (most notably Eva), but its still always pretty surprising to me when they do.

Holy mother of pearl. My favorite anime is licensed!
Alexander Key's estate finally gave in
I had a sinking feeling for a month that this would happen.
