A very solid roster for SRW's 30th, and I'm still going to guess that there will be a time skip of some sort, since both young 0079 Amuro & older Char's Counterattack Amuro were shown in action in the trailer. Glad to see Victory Gundam make its first mainline appearance since D was back on the Game Boy Advance, as well as L-Gaim & "First Gundam's" first since GC/XO on the GameCube & Xbox 360. Also, I believe this is Majestic Prince's mainline debut, having previously only appearing in the mobile games.

Finally, for anyone wondering, Mazinkaiser Infinitism looks to simply be a Mazinger Z: Infinity-style take on Mazinkaiser that's completely original to this game, similar to how the original Mazinkaiser was originally created for SRW way back in the 90s.

No, that was CCA Amuro inside the RX-78. Most likely they are doing what they used to do in early SRW games: having an adult Amuro start with the RX-78 so the player won't have access to the strong Nu Gundam from the start.

Does this technically make Gridman the first Toku property to be in a main line SRW game? I say technically cause it's the SSSS.Gridman anime in the game but it's a squeal to the '94 Tokusatsu.

I mean, Super Toku Taisen 2001 was a thing in addition to SRW basically being a spinoff of a franchise that got way popular than said franchise (CompatiHeroes, which was Gundam, Kamen Rider and Ultraman.)

So sort of?

I wonder if the Bettermen will be playable units this time. The titular character wasn't back in Compact 3, but the franchise has been pushing the boundaries of Mecha recently, so I hope they give Lamia and his pals a chance.

Another thing I'm curious about is how they will handle Knight's & Magic. There has been Isekai titles in SRW before, but this is the first time an Isekai where a person dies and is born again in another world is used. For example, in X the titular character of Wataru came from the same world as Mazinger and Might Gaine before being Isekai'd. So is there a chance Eru will get to visit his old world after resurrecting?

And speaking of Eru, can't wait to see how he will react to meeting the other robots. It will be a fangasm of epic proportions.

Excited for J-Decker and Majestic Prince. I do worry that it will suffer from the same issues I've had with the last several mainline SRWs (too many stages + samey, uninspired stage design), but only time will tell.

Pretty sure it debuted as a figure first.

Double-checked, and you are right about that. Still, First Gundam & Zeta Gundam are NOT on the "mechs only" list, so apparently this game is still going to be using plot from those shows?

So the original MSG, Zeta, Char's Counterattack and Narrative are part of the plot but not ZZ and Unicorn... Okay. Good luck trying to make that not be a mess. Well, it can't be a bigger disappointment then Super Robot Wars T was with it's use of cheap nostalgia baiting with Cowboy Bebop and then doing nothing with it in the actual game. or lazily doing only half of GaoGaiGar at a rushed and sloppy pace. Really, the bar been lowered so much that the next game can't help but be a improvement.

Personally I never care for the plot of these games much but I'm in the minority I suppose. The series is very much a mech fanservice guilty pleasure for me, I pre-ordered this game on Play Asia right away Razz. I find it interesting that its not so linear this time.

"Tactical Area Select system: SRW 30 is a non linear game, you can pick which stage you want to do next on a map. The units you get are the same, but the order you’ll get them will be different depending on the order you do the stages. There are also side quests to grind money and experience. The game has an auto battle mode to make grinding easier too, though it doesn’t auto-use certain things like Spirits. You can either rush the main story, or do all the sidequests."

I will back you on this.
Squeezing everybody's story into the same continuity just makes for 20 minute text dumps and less game time before bed.
I was fairly attentive to the Yamato-story elements in V though, so once in a while they do land on something compelling.
