Hopefully when this is finally released overseas this pandemic will be over and people will able to visit the cinemas to watch it.

I'll absolutely be watching them when they're available.

I am excited, but I fear it might take several years for all six movies to come out.

This is what bugs me when an anime gets continued as a set of movies instead of another TV series. It means no simulcast, and instead a 3-5 year wait for fans in the West, by which point much of the fan base has already moved on.

PP was originally an Amazon title, but it's now available on HIDIVE. Not out of the question that the movies could pop up there within just a few months, since they have done that for other franchises (most notably Fate/kaleid liner).

Unfortunately, Girls und Panzer Das Finale didn’t get that treatment yet. I think they are waiting for all parts to come out so that it would be cheaper to produce a BD with a dub in one go. Same could happen to Princess Principal.

The series was amazing, but at the same time I couldn't imagine watching this until it (hopefully) gets dubbed, because the cast did such a fantastic job.

Sentai dubbed Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul only months after its Japanese theatrical release. Maybe that was a special case but who knows. FUNi dubbed and released My Hero Academia Movie 2 in theaters only 2 month after its Japanese theatrical release and released the blu-ray like 8 months later.

Anime movies are often such a slow process but its improved over the years.
I just fear the "waiting for all parts to come out". Please no.

My fear exactly. I will be sticking around even if it is 5 years or more. But I know most anime watchers will not, especially since this series got swept aside because people think it is just a cute-girl-doing-cute-things show, which is not at all.

What this means is that the series will be made to cut off mid-point because the interest dies off and not enough people cares or pays anymore.

I think you are underestimating the hardcore Japanese fanbase. Though we might not see the Box office numbers of this since it’s only screening in 46 theaters across Japan.

Princess Principal streamed on Amazon because Sentai had a deal with them. And unlike Scum's Wish and After the Rain, Sentai controlled the PP license from the get go; it was not really an Amazon title.
