A Dallas based dub? I thought that Aniplex being the licensor would have meant they would have dubbed it in BangZoom.

I think that since Aniplex and Funi are under the Sony umbrella, Aniplex has been using Funimation's production services as a cheaper alternative to outsourcing to Bang Zoom.

a reasonable thought, right up until Darwin's Game was a funi dub, swiftly followed by Kaguya-sama. Then, Millionaire Detective, Super HxEros, Sigrdrifa and The Day I Became God. No real reason to be surprised at this point. I'm certainly in favor of Aniplex shows having a little more variety with dubs

it seems like Aniplex is reserving LA for their Light Novel adaptions (Misfit at Demon King Academy, Irregular at Magic High School) while everything else more or less goes to Funimation.

I am curious about Cells at Work! Code Black though.

This is a neat cast. Its somewhat archetypal with voice/character "types" (which honestly feels really true to how these types of shows are cast in Japanese), but I also wouldn't say any of the choices are completely predictable or anything. There are plenty of actors I haven't heard as much from as others, as well as a decent amount of TX & LA actors. I'm really looking forward to hearing it! Fun, over-the-top shows like this have a lot of leeway to really be heightened by a good dub.

In the case of misfit and irregular I wouldn't be surprised if there had been earlier agreements made before things were decided to start dubbing at funimation. Sometimes agreements can be from a year or two ago which basically means their just honoring what was already agreed upon.(same with what happenned after the funimation/crunchyroll partnership ended)

I don't know about that. Seems kind of an odd thing to set so firmly in stone early into a production plan.

Like, Funimation dubbed Kaguya-sama season 2 so there wouldn't be that much of a difference with Irregular season 2 (wasn't it announced later than Kaguya-sama season 2 as well?).

You make a point but that's not definite. Irregular as a whole was an older series (not season 2 obviously) but they might have already licensed bangzoom for a dub of season 1 (granted we don't have it yet but its probably coming)
