Weird that they're announcing non-anime stuff at an ANIME Festival. Never heard of this story but the art looks nice

OH YES! This is awesome.
I read Trese back in college and it is an awesome series. I'm happy that it's getting animated. Looking at the stills released, I'm pretty sure this is something to look forward to. That badass Alexandra <3

Finally us pinoys no longer have to bare the shame of The Nutshack being the sole representation of Filipino animation here in America.

Pinoy do get some representation in the Eng. dubs of anime by way of Christine Marie Cabanos, Ricco Fajardo, Dawn M. Bennett, and whoever else.

It would be interesting to see other cultural's mythological entities and figures, I've seen a lot in all kinds of fiction but never Filipino. I hope to see something similar in future when it comes to Indian Mythology but that's just wishful thinking since we hardly even have much legal sources of anime.

Netflix has called their anime-inspired stuff "anime" for a while, which is what they market Powerhouse Anim's works as, like Castlevania and the new Zeus show. I'm guessing that this is here because it looks like anime is and is animated in Asia. They also grouped the Korean Studio Mir's adaptation of the Witcher under "anime" as well, though I think that might actually be Japanese-language at least.

Wait, there's an animated Witcher show still coming?

Yup! Released by Netflix and produced by Studio Mir, best know for being the animation studio who did Korra.
