"will not be censored"
So wait, does that mean the latest entry in the Atelier series is going be be more violent in the combat? More mature in the story? Or are we looking at costume packs that have WAY too many swimsuit options? |

What could even be censored? This is a mediocre J-RPG with 10% PG porn elements. The Simpsons is more transgressive.

As always, those thighs are just ridiculous - wish they would go back to the Arland art style. Kishida Mel is a god among artists.

That's good to know. I may not like the direction some Atelier games have gone in, but if it helps the franchise, who am I to complain?
Though, I just thought of something funny...Sony's now starting to be like what Nintendo used to be back in the 90s in terms of censorship policies. Remember when Nintendo used to censor every game they got their hands on, from editing skimpy outfits, changing dialogue, and refusing to make anything but kid friendly games? I remember reading that it got to the point where certain game developers who once worked with Nintendo quit and moved to Sony because the latter didn't stifle developers' creative freedom and let them go wild with their ideas, leading to games like Final Fantasy 7. Now the situation seems to have been reversed. |

The trailer had some thigh and butt censored with a dust cloud that covered even the UI. Looked like a cheap edit that was just done by Sony. |

Does that mean that Sony has somehow conceded or it doesn't count as censoring if they make the Japanese version tamer?
On the other hand, an Atelier title shouldn't really need censoring even by Sony's ridiculous standards.
Devs giving Nintendo the cold shoulder had little to do with creativity and much to do with format - the specs of CDs vs carts, the price of carts, how much of the share Nintendo took, liminations of stocks and licenses... and outside both of those, the way Nintendo 64 worked being hard to deal with, memory was a big issue IIRC. Nintendo's grip on the content of third parties wasn't as strong on SNES as it was on NES. |

Forgot about that part, though I think my point still stands. |

Worth mentioning they said the same about Fairy Tail only to release a day one patch censoring the game.

If Sony does that, perhaps a civil lawsuit for "bait and switch". |

Good.
Censorship is patronization anyway. |

They did. Lulua didn't set the charts and reception on fire like Ryza did. |

Fairy Tail had Panty Shots but is now just a dark void. Fairy Tail is censored on all systems it is available on. |

Well with patches you can always clear the system memory and play if offline if its that big a deal to you. Its how a lot of people get around Dark Souls dupe glitches and exploit patches. |

We'll see. It isn't unheard of for a game to release uncensored, only to have a patch that does so. I've also seen companies claim that they didn't censor a game, but only adjusted certain parts of it for the audience in a particular region.
Basically, I don't trust Sony when it comes to this topic. They seem to slip by the notice of most because they don't apply the same rules to big games, and they are deliberately vague about what those rules are. We've gotten to a point where things like the remaster of Gal Gun 1 are skipping a Playstation release, despite being on the platform originally. Honestly, one of the reasons I got a Switch recently was so I would have the option to play games the way the creators intended. |
