Wow, it must have done *really* badly, in order to get cancelled within a year despite getting an anime. I mean, yes, the anime was terrible, but still...

Someone who actually watches the industry may need to correct me, but the vague impression I get is that if a gacha game isn't a big hit, that's its standard fate. The publishers seem to set budget for support and new content to last for a trial period of a year, and if it doesn't take off in that time, it's over. I feel like I see articles about smartphone games shutting down within a year all the time.
Girls und Panzer as a whole is a very successful franchise, but its smartphone game lasted barely over a year. https://gup.fandom.com/wiki/Girls_und_Panzer:_Atsumare!_Min%27na_no_Sensha-dō animenewsnetwork.com/news/2019-09-28/girls-und-panzer-atsumare-minna-no-senshado-smartphone-game-ends-service-in-november/.151638 |

Well, it’s kinda sad that the mobile game ended. Though it still have the other GuP mobile game “Great Tankery Operation” which will reach its 5th year this November. But yeah, anime-related mobile games gets shut down if there’s no growth in player base. |
