Well this oneshot was... interesting.
A far cry from food wars but the character designs are certainly familiar. Too familiar. Feels like reading spinoff where Erina and Asahi are faculty members. That said it's not really anything spectacular which is setting off flags because if the readers realize this they might start going more fanservice heavy to entice readers. Hopefully, as a one-shot it's enough to gather interest and if it's serialized they clean it up. |

I'm a sucker for manga like Denpa Kyoushi and GTO that has MC teachers which don't fit the mold of a stereotypical teacher's motivations, behaviors, and responses to the rules. Although hopefully this doesn't send the message that good teachers have to be near-supernatural in their abilities.

I think this could end up being a good series if it gets picked up. I'd like to see a different design for the female MC though, she's basically just Erina with darker hair.
The creature design was good though, so I'd definitely be up for seeing what other strange creatures they come up with. |
