I grew up on Power Rangers and Digimon so this is pretty painful losing one of the most iconic voices in my childhood.

Two Digimon VAs in one month and we lost the English VA for Metalgreymon earlier this year too. Armadillomon and Wizardmon are especially two of my favorite Digimon. Robert Axlerod was also an important part of my childhood playing both Lord Zedd and Finster in Power Rangers. RIP Robert Axelrod and my thoughts are with his loved ones.

His health had been poor for a while and there was even a go fund me whenhe nearly died a year ago. Rest in peace sir. Prayers be with your loved ones

He was a truly lovely man. I know he had been in a lot of pain for quite some time. I’m happy his suffering is over and wish the best for his family.

Yeah, anyone whose seen recent pictures of him could tell it was going to happen before long. Still unfortunate it had to end this way rather than recovery. |

Awww jeez. Poor him and Michael Lindsey. I grew up on Digimon so I'm sure this is a huge blow to fellow Digimon fans. May they both rest in peace.

I got to meet him a few years back at genericon. While i did not have much of an interaction with him.He seemed like a nice person.I knew of his work of course. Sorry to hear this.

I listened to him speak at a convention once, and he seemed like a pretty cool guy. RIP, Mr. Axelrod--70 is too young to pass away. At this difficult time, I hope his family is comforted to know that so many fans deeply appreciated his work.

A long time ago, I remember reading this online story about how a moronic and unstable "fan" sincerely thought the Power Rangers/anime were made in America and that the very notion they were of Japanese origin was just weeb crap, and when Axelrod himself said that Zedd was a character made specifically for the American version, he threw a violent fit.
I wonder how that jackass would feel finding out about this, unless he's been properly shut off from civilized society after that whole spiel. |
