I'm intensely curious what sort of story can be told across two such nightmare scenarios in only 32 pages. Or maybe a "story" isn't the point here--it could be more of a emotional response piece told through imagery.
BTW: in the "language" of Nazi concentration camp uniforms, the inverted red triangle indicates a political prisoner. |

This looks like St. Maximilian Kolbe.
He died in Auschtwitz, though he was Polish. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximilian_Kolbe So maybe it takes inspiration from him.

Yes, Kolbe founded a monastery called Mugenzai no Sono in Nagasaki in the early 30's, which survived the atomic bombing due to its location on "the wrong side" of a hill. I'm very interested to see exactly who the eponymous "Dutchman" might be...
