MIshandling of URLs with embedded special characters

This crops up whenever I try to post a Wikipedia URL that includes parentheses like

Quote:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kappa_(folklore)


I've tried escaping the parentheses with back slashes, using quotes around the URL, etc., and nothing seems to work. Apparently the parser does not recognize the parenthesis as a valid part of the URL.
