You mean a harem? It's a bit of that, but mostly a comedy. I've only read a bit but the guy doesn't seem unaware that his students like him, but he rather not go to jail.

If this were just about the protagonist learning and gaining a love for cooking and making friends over it all, this would be pretty fantastic. But with there being a teacher involved, yeah, that's just awkward.
This was weird in Interview with Monster Girls and it's weird here. It'd be nice if shows didn't really tease the whole "students crushing on teachers" thing, it's a little gross (especially for me, whose mother is a teacher).

^Different series garner different audiences.
I remember reading some chapters of this manga a while back. Glad to see it licensed and I wonder if an anime can be made for it someday.
