Nice that its an actual sequel to the TV series rather than a standalone with original content. Wish there was a more specific release date though.
Edit: Theron is gonna have a field day with the reviews once it comes out.

Going by the mere clips, it's definitely an adaptation of Book 5. If that's the case, theaters better soundproof the showings because it's a laugh-a-second affair.

I'm looking forward to this!!
And correct me if I am wrong, but hadn't they announced both this new movie AND a new TV series? Or am I confusing Konsuba with a different title?

Youre probably referring to DanMachi that has both a movie and a new TV season. No confirmation yet on season 3 for Konosuba. This is the closest thing we get to season 3 as the movie will cover vol 5 of the light novel which is where the TV series left off.

Yeah, it was Danmachi I was thinking of. Thanks for setting me straight.

Yep, this basically confirms it as an adaptation of volume5 which is the best case scenario. Very much looking forward to it!

It's only a few seconds of animation, but it is reassuring to see that they appear to be keeping the same style as the TV series, as opposed to something "cleaner" or different, which some series have gone for for their big screen outing. That will be very interesting to see play out, especially with theatrical-level production values behind it (which you can see a bit with the body shot of Megumin). Likewise, I'm also very curious to see how movie critics outside of the anime sphere will receive something atypical like KONOSUBA…

Nice to see this is canon content. Hopefully this does well enough for a 3rd season.
Also obligatory "NA home release when?"
