BEASTARS isn´t quite as interesting as it looks but sure why not. An adaptation is pretty likely now. Golden Kamuy and Mr. Joe deserved their prizes for sure. Golden Kamuy´s chance at a 2nd season just skyrocketed and who knows. It may even get a few more yen to boost it´s... minimalist budget.

I disagree, I think it deserves all the awards it's been getting this year, such a great manga. Congrats to Golden Kamuy, it finally won the award!

I don't know what kind of criteria they judge the entries based on, but Satoru Noda's art just blows me away. His inking and linework are beautiful to look at. Good for him!

BEASTARS' premise sounds like someone saw Zootopia and decided to mix up the characters a bit and set it in a school, but I haven't read it to judge...if you read it, would you mind sharing why you think it got this award? Genuinely curious!

You'll only be able to really understand it if you read it yourself, it also won 2 other awards.

Is the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize like the Oscar for manga entries?
