I like a hook that could be spiritual continuations of Valkyria Chronicles and/or Scrapped Princess. This is now on my radar. Thanks.

Disappointed that the preview of the book is so short. More than half of it was just pictures, not enough for me to decide. Thanks for the review tho, it was interesting.

I loved the "sci-fi fairy tale" tone Sven's story had, especially in the prologue chapter. I thought this novel was very cute and intriguing; I got a BookWalker account just to check this novel out, and I'll continue to follow this series.

The 7/6 YT video "From Lonely & Unemployed To International Light Novel Author: The Exclusive Interview" has nice interview with SOW.
Some highlights:
-@5:59: in the span of 9 months, he wrote 17 LN titles/series but 15 of them failed.
-@9:40-being a Gundam fan, he especially liked Shin Matsunaga's Zaku. He used that Zaku as an inspiration for Sven.
@12:12-he chose a bakery because it is the polar opposite of a soldier. Whereas a soldier has a job of taking lives, a baker has a job that is about giving/enriching lives. He even cites that bread is "even that is even highlighted in the Bible as an object that symbolises the life in many ways"

So how much of it is about cooking? Cool twist or no I'm a bit tired of that genre and approach anything with a title like this warily..

^ Not much, actually. It mentions that the bread is really good and a few specific types, but it really is more about healing after the horrors of war. You can really feel what Kadmos1 said the author mentioned - that a bakery is the polar opposite of a war zone.

I normally don't read LNs, but this actually sounds like something I'd enjoy.

"Sven" is a fairly typical Scandinavian male name with a Swedish tint. Norwegians would probably rather use "Svein". Not sure what Danes would use, though. An older version of Sven, which many Vinland Saga readers have already encountered, is "Sweyn".

I believe it is a contraction of her full name, although I forget now what that was.
--edit--
Oops, just noticed* that they've changed the title since the original press release (they dropped the "his"). I've updated the Encyclopedia.
*in truth I've had a niggling thought in my mind since receiving the clear file I won from them, but neglected to check.
