The character designs are bland as hell. It's not as appealing as any of the established idol games from the past 5 years.

Well, if a Japanese woman can get miscast (at times) for playing teenage boys, then an Japanese man can miscast for playing a teen girl. Note I said can because a miscast is subjective.
