The difference is that Production I.G took thirty years to make a studio. The MAPPA studio has taken eight, that is, much less time, and is already establishing an auxiliary studio.

I feel like this is more or less just like having an additional office, not an actually different studio with its own title. It could be something like how KyoAni has a couple of different studios, or maybe Bones with their four sub studios that are all still under their brand and title.

Building a side studio at a city where they can recruit young talent graduating at their local vocational schools over there, pretty smart move. I hope the guys at MAPPA will keep up with their good work and continue to produce ambitious titles. I look forward to their future projects (including Altair and Inuyashiki).
