I honestly think togashi planned this before his latest hiatus. He came back and all he needed was one more chapter to complete volume 33 and then he did 10 more which is just enough chapters to fill this volume.

Man... after the HOTD author died, I get worried that Togashi will die before anything major happens again in HxH.

This is some pretty random timing. Or maybe not. Maybe this was done so readers wouldn't forget about the series. I have a hunch this current hiatus will be the longest one yet.
That's how he's always done things ever since the hiatuses took over the series: He'd do just enough to be one chapter short of a volume, then go on break. Seems to be insurance, of sorts, so he'd only have to do one chapter if something comes up.
Yeah, it's become a real concern. The World Trigger author too. |

Not as hard as it might seem: Shueisha and Viz always announce at least one week in advance when Togashi will return to make more, and the news spreads real fast among Hunter X Hunter fans. |

exactly what I thought. and since he seems to back to work just to fill the volume 33 & 34, probably this hiatus will stay longer than before. just my opinion though |
