REVIEW: The Ancient Magus' Bride GN 5

This volume was full of some good stuff for advancing the development between our protagonists; even better with the chapter dedicated to the quiet Silky, who we simply think of as the silent housekeeper. Of course, if you know the story of the mythical Silky, you'll know why her story is so powerful when you read it. Some of my favorite parts to this volume are:

1. spoiler[When Elias pointed out that he did not wish to be pitied when talking to Titania after bringing Chise to the faerie kingdom to be healed. It's obvious that even though he is respected for his power, he's also looked down upon for being what he is and he doesn't like it. He then proudly declares that he wishes for Chise to live like a human because humans accept him, unlike the fae.]

2. spoiler[The big aww moment at the end when Chise and Elias exchanged kisses under the mistletoe.]

Looking forward to the review of the sixth volume and the mini-special that comes with it.

Just read no 6 and really enjoying it. Nicely drawn, enjoyable characters, interesting story.

Whenever this manga ends, I'm getting the feeling I'll react just as I reacted after finishing The Lord of the Rings the first time - like all the air came out of body at once when I realized I'll never read about these characters again. I remember feeling sad and depressed, almost to the point of sobbing. I never thought I'd have those feelings reading a book or series ever again, (although Harry Potter came close). That feeling has changed. Wonderment oozes from every page. It's visual oxygen and as of this moment, out of the hundreds of manga's I've read, it has become my absolute favorite. So Mr. Yamazaki, keep up the wonderful work and I hope there's many, many more chapters to come!

Fixed your typo.

[pretty sure this gets mentioned in the author bios from time to time, but these days there aren't that many men working as shoujo mangaka to start with.]

I think you're right about the author, but this isn't shoujo manga. I think it's technically shounen, but from one of those magazines that has a broader, not gender-specific, target demographic.
