Mio still remained relevant eventhough that the last K-on related material aired in 2011. Well, she's pretty great after all and K-on is practically a legendary anime over there, not to mentioned being a show beside Haruhi (Lucky Star too?) that helped launched Kyoto Animation into what they are today.

I have not seen most of those shows, but Mio from K-On! and Rei from Sailor Moon would be on my top 10 list, if I made one.
I am not going to try though because there are just too many to choose from. But since I just happened to think of her I will say that Kuroyukihime from Accel World would probably also be on it. |

Back when they did the '14 hair polls that was just asking for Sailor Moon characters ("Favorite blue-haired? Favorite blonde twin-tails?"), it was before Sailor Moon Crystal came out, so there was more nostalgia in play.
Still, nice to see Sailor Mars wasn't forgotten this time out either. Now, Kyoko Otonashi or Sakaki, OTOH...

Out of the KyoAni black-haired female characters, I'd probably have to say that I find Mitsuki Nase from Kyoukai no Kanata the most attractive, though I'm not surprised that she's not on this list.

For some reason when I think of black haired females in anime, Akame from Akame ga Kill is the first that comes to mind for me personally, but she didn't make the list.

Well Chitanda and Reina are definitely two of my favorite characters, but Mio's always been my least-favorite of the five K-On girls. I still like her fine, she's just not my thing. Kaoru (RuroKen) would also definitely make my list. I suppose Rin Tohsaka and Yukiko Amagi would be considered game characters rather than anime characters, but they'd make my list too otherwise.
Also interesting some of the names who aren't here. No Hestia - guess that fad was pretty short-lived. No Hinata Hyuga, unless the organizers decided her hair's blue, but I've always considered it black. Nobody from Kill la Kill (Ryuko or Satsuki could've qualified). And Dia making the list from LL Sunshine over Kanan and Yoshiko is a slight surprise to me, since I didn't have the impression that Dia was among the more popular girls in the cast. |
