It's hard to enjoy the journey when it feels like this

I tend to like harem rom coms, but I found Nisekoi (well at least the 2nd season) kind of meh. It has some amusing and watchable bits and pieces here and there, but mostly the comedy is very lame and weak. And the show doesn't go anywhere in the romantic department so overall I find Nisekoi to be fairly weak as far as harem rom coms go. It has very pretty character designs, I'll give it that, but I don't like Shaft's animation style. Having said all that I've sort of grown fond of the characters enough at this point that I'd definitely like to see the conclusion to Nisekoi's story in animated form. |

Who wants to waste time watching or reading this whenspoiler[in the end, Chitoge wins, because, despite Onodera being the girl of the key, she lets Raku escape with the blonde girl?]
And for those people that think that in harem series is alwaysspoiler[the blonde girl] who wins, that´s a big freaking lie. There has to be other stories where who wins has different hair color. By the way, for discussion, can someone tell me which harem series and mangas have good or satisfying endings? Personally I think Ichigo 100% has one |

Well if you're talking winning girls with different hair color theres Highschool D X D since spoiler[ Rias became Issei's official girl while everyone else including Asia is second so theres that]. And I dont agree that Ichigo 100%'s ending is satisfying. If anything its a prime example of a spoiler["good but not truly satisfying ending"] in a harem series and it left a bitter taste in my mouth for various reasons. |

I remember the Shelf Life Review of the first half saying something to the effect that the series with Shaft's visuals was like hot sauce in Ramen but at the end of the day it is still Ramen. Wich yes the visuals and art direction help but ultimately this all just felt like a paint by numbers harem series. so at the end of the day, no matter how much you gussy up a series if the writing is weak nothing can really fix that.

First, that ending was made by a poll that decided that spoiler[Nishino is the final girl]. Second, spoiler[she did more and was more interested in Junpei than Aya in the whole story]. It may not be satisfying for some people, but there was some buildup. Unfortunately, in Nisekoi, the buildup was so ridiculously complicated, and with the odds in favor of spoiler[Onodera], you get to wonder if Raku should end withspoiler[Chitoge] in the first place at it happen in the ending |

Im well aware that Ichigo's ending was decided by fan poll but that doesnt mean I like it. Sure it started to build up between the two in the last volumes it felt quite a bit off to me but thats probably because of my preference in shipping. In fact Nieskoi is basically a rehash of this with a few tweaks |

It wasn't the final choice that turned me off; even after all the twists and turns in the series I still held through with the manga to the very end.
What turned me off though turned out to be the very end. So much buildup and instead of a payoff we got what constituted to be a summary chapter. And all condensed into twenty pages? Love Hina finale was like several chapters long. (I know, apples and oranges, but still) Felt like reading Ranma 1/2 all over again. |

Off the top of my head, The World God Only Knows was one for me. |

Journey? what kind of journey? there's no "journey" in Nisekoi, just a lot, A LOT, of useless filler chapters (episodes in the anime) that add nothing to the plot or relationships, nothing, and after a while they even stopped being funny.

there is love hina and A.I Love You which definitely had both. however when it comes to harem series they have a tendency to have their endings follow the "no need for tenchi" formula where it does have a conclusion but not a satisfying one to hold out on possible sequels which is why people have a tendency of not liking the genre at all. especially if their based off of light novels. |

When the 2nd magical girl filer eps started and to me was the most duh joke retold in it. I knew 2nd season was just all filer. Nisekoi has a good plot a yakuza son has to fake being together with a american mafia girl and start having real feels as the story goes along. The key thing is joke just used to stop any real relationship from happen anytime soon. Only eps i like on this season was the teacher leaving and his friend dealing with it. Filer eps but it was nice and sweet and had a ended that felt good nothing left on the table kind of feel |
