Nice in principle, but who's going to buy it? It's too big to place in someone's yard...

If they're going to sell it, I'd worry if Nintendo and legal might come into play... For example companies like Disney have previously even gone after painted walls at Daycare centers...

Why don't they just leave it there? It's obviously become a tourist attraction.

Whoever buys the statue of Pikachu, I hope its cool stance will attract plenty of onlookers on their way to a mall.

For the reason you wouldn't leave a broken down car sitting on concrete blocks on your front lawn. That's not what it was made for.

Are they even allowed to sell it?

This is clearly not the same thing. It's a statue that fits perfectly into the park atmosphere.

The statue wasn't sanctioned or authorized by the city to be put where it's at though hence why it's being sold off.

At the same time, though, they're getting more attention because of it. We wouldn't even be talking about this park if not for the statue.

Paradoxically speaking if not for the recent success of Pokemon Go I don't think we'd be hearing about this period.

I guess they're going to auction this off to charity before Nintendo's lawyers come by and remove it by force. (Or not. You never can tell.) A charity auction also follows way different laws than a normal sale, especially if they intend to use 100% of the money for charity.

Although it's sad that there selling the statue it's nice that the proceeds are going to charity. Still I am curious as to who will buy it and just what are they going to do with it.

I know someone who's been using a rusted-out tractor as a lawn ornament for years. It doesn't matter what it's made for.
