Oh my god...could this actually finally be happening?! I've wanted a Godzilla anime for longer than I can remember. If this is a real thing, I hope it's good...but I'm hesitant to get my hopes too high.

Yes please and thank you. And throwing an Eva in there wouldn't be bad either.
Give the people what they want!!!

Please it be the anime from Anno and Khara, please, please, PLEASE! That will be really awesome and sick thing. Give the Big 'Zilla the epic that it really deserved.

At least it's better than the '78 Hanna-Barbera version, that licensed the character but not the Roar (or any of the other Toho kaiju-verse elements), and had to make do with "Lurch"'s Ted Cassidy going "Rawwrrr!"
Although here, sounds like they're tying it into the Resurgence-verse, which seems to be trying to be Japan's answer to the no-fun US '14 version.
(And if they DO try hiring Anno to cash in on the new "EvaZilla" marketing trend...)

Fully prepared for this to be Khara's first TV anime with someone directly under Anno's supervision making their directorial debute
Bracing for the disappointing reality that it'll probably be a cheap cash grab from A-1 or some other committee hot spot

I'm still over waiting for a super sentai anime. Seems like it would be a no-brainer.

Could be fantastic if the right studio does it.

I'd rather it stay live action, as that's one of the things I always respect it for, being live action. Not just the Ranger suits and stunts but the trouble they go to make all the monster suits, one for every week, and still using suit actors for the Megazord/Giant Robo/Whatever. Sure a lot more CG is used, but it sticks to its live action traditions mostly. I fear an anime would take away all that effort and make them realize "What's the point if we can just anime the whole thing?".
Just seems rare for kids shows like this to be live action instead of just full CG, animated or those live action kid sidcoms these days....

um, look harder, there are like several Super Sentai inspired animes despite not being produced by Toei, especially during the 90's, yes the parodies even count,

A Godzilla Anime sounds like an awesome idea so long as it's done right and has all the spirit of Godzilla.

This is long overdue. I wonder what if any seiyuu could do justice with his screams or if they will just use stock sounds.
