Excited for Dragon Ball Super and Arc-V, and I know a lot of people who will be overjoyed for Gundam and Utena. Now new fans can read Rurouni Kenshin, too.

I don't mean to be the one whiner in the thread (well, kind of), but damn, I was hoping they would license Snow White with the Red Hair.
I guess there's still time, though.

Yaaaas to Gundam Thunderbolt. Had a hunch it would be announced this weekend, with the OVA coming out this week and everything. Seemed like a possibility.
Utena box set is neat too. Always meant to track down the manga. Good thing I held off.

So I guess Viz is going to re-release Kenshin *yet again* in its cheaper $14.99 omnibus format?
I guess they're not planning on reprinting the Viz Big volumes then, I gotta buy the ones I'm missing before they go OOP..
And for those wanting to read Rurouni Kenshin, you should just pick the Viz Big volumes, the quality is great and the price is good too.

Too bad the DB Super anime (as well as the Buu section of Kai) won't be licensed anytime soon.

Viz already released RuroKen in 3 in 1 omnibuses. Will these be the cheap ones like the Naruto, Bleach, and FMA omnibuses?

I've tried to get into the Utena anime by watching the first ep or so, but I always found the story inscrutable and hard to connect with. A few months ago, I came across the first volume of the Utena manga in an out of state library and decided to check it out and give it a shot. The story was much easier to understand, and Utena was very well fleshed out as a character in a new, strange world. I really liked it, but I couldn't find the subsequent volumes in print anywhere.
I'm overjoyed that Viz is rereleasing the manga, but I hope they consider a standard release (maybe in omnibus form) in addition to the premium set that not everyone can afford, and libraries won't be likely to acquire. It's a good manga, and it deserves a wide audience, not a limited release.

Should I just give up the hope that they will license Silver Spoon? Is it really that unmarketable?

Will they finish Thunderbolt though?
Outside of Ground Zero, Episode Zero and Blind Target, Viz's experiences with Gundam manga have been terrible. They never finished Origin (Vertical's the first publisher to finish an English release) and the manga adaption of 0079 never got finished either.
Thunderbolt's still ongoing, unlike some of the above were.

Viz has gotten a lot of fan backlash for discontinuing series in the past. When was the last time they've cancelled one?

Not a fan at all of huge omnibuses.
.... but I'd be willing to deal with it for a re-release of Maison Ikkoku. Come on viz

We're finally getting Thunderbolt, awesome. Hopefully the print edition looks nice.

Keep in mind that was back in the late 90s-early 2000's. Times have changed and the US market for Gundam is much better now than it was back then.

Pretty excited for the Utena box set! I have the first volume on my shelf, but hadn't picked up the rest of the manga. I wonder if The Adolescence of Utena manga will also be included in the box set as well... Guess I'll have to wait until the solicitation come up.

Kinda suprised that Thunderbolt is being released by Viz - was Vertical not interested i wonder? or maybe they were wary of licencing an [as yet] unfinished series?
