Dude's been around. Kept his LDs protected. Quite the mis-match of cultures going around

Hey there. Thanks for watching the vid. I'm Gerald, (L.A. Akira) from the video. Quite a bit had been edited down in the final cut including how a few of us did what we could to grow the LA's anime scene in the mid 80s and early 90s through small gatherings and meetups at the shrine convention center where it was only a small group of anime dealers (less than 8) and over 200 comic vendors.
Some of those friends we started the group with moved to Japan a few years before me and started AnimEigo. It's really great to see the state of anime in the US and the rest of the world these days as it was nothing short of a dream to us back then.

I've got a question. Are food trucks common in Japan or is it only here in this country?

They are, however the food trucks in Japan are much much smaller (most of them are kei-car class), and the variety of foods offered is much less. Don't expect to see a lot of effort and ¥¥¥ invested in art work like you will see on food trucks in North America.

I wish I could be in Los Angeles to try out those super-tasty dishes of the Okamoto Kitchen right now...

As long as food is legit (and from what I hear it is), it's great!
