Thanks, Anime Expo. I probably would've attended to see Uchikoshi if you had announced this earlier, instead of only 2 weeks out. Rolling Eyes It's hard to attend events at last minute when they're on the other side of the continent.

It's really too bad that anime cons generally don't seem to finalize schedules with guests until so late. I don't attend anime cons to just go to the anime con. I only go to anime cons if there's guests I want to see. This has always been true for me, but it's especially true now that I'm in my 30's. Many attendees are going to be a decade or more younger than me, so it's not like I have any interest in making friends with the random strangers.

I 100% agree with you. I can't stand that they do this to people. It's ridiculous. They'd get more attendance if they told people upfront instead of trying to pull this silly unveiling bullshit. People have lives and jobs and need to know things ahead of time.

I also agree with you, I only go for certain guests and panels.

Uchikoshi had actually also announced that he would be at Anime Expo on June 2nd through his facebook (I don't remember if he had mentioned it on his twitter as well). I know that it's still late (one month) but quite a few fans knew he would be attending Anime Expo for almost 3 weeks.

Sometimes guest appearances aren't finalized until closer to con date, but in AX's case, I'm fairly sure they are just holding out on people. They've been saying for the past couple weeks after they announce someone new that there's still more coming. I wouldn't be surprised if they still plan on announcing guests.
