Article Correction: Shenmue 2 was never released in North America on the Dreamcast. Shenmue 2 was only released in Japan and Europe for Dreamcast. The only North American version released was the Xbox version.

No more darts and the search for wood?
It was unique for it's time but that ship has sailed. Release a movie detailing what happened like the second game did. Those two are not worth playing again.

I actually already own these games for dreamcast and xbox, but I think rereleasing them again is a great idea. It will reintroduce the series to a new gen of gamers and potentially increase sales of shenmue 3.
Shenmue games are surely a product of their times, but they are still fun, interesting and moving.
I kinda hope that they don't update the graphics though, I like the charm of the old graphics.

I look forward to seeing this happen. We can finally have a copy of this. I was wondering if they were going to put this on disc. I really hope so.

You could make the same argument for a lot of old games, but people still play them. I'd very much support an HD release if it happened. One thing they could fix though is the controls. Give us the option for some updated ones like the RE remasters.

I don't think fixing the controls would make the fighting mechanics feel any less horrible.

"Investigates"? That's a weird word to use. Words like "considers" or "evaluates" would be pretty normal, but the word "investigates" sounds like the HD remaster already exists and someone at SEGA is examining it in close detail.

This would be excellent if they could get this done before Shenmue III if everything does go a-okay. It is a very dumb idea for them NOT to try.. Work with Sony...worth with Microsoft...work with Steam... WHOEVER. I'm sure another company will see the benefit and help push this alone so the experience is fast and lovely (and we can get it).
