Not counting Gonzo I don't think there ever was a studio dedicated to making bad works.
Jokes aside, bankruptcy is not the end of the world. Aforementioned Gonzo has been on the verge of collapse too, but they survived, it's all in the hands of management now.

It's a company that died because they didn't adapt in time, they did good stuff but none of it sold well due to most of it being dark and edgy.

I will have to disagree, Attack on Titan and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure are both and sold quite well (with sequels expected). If anything, manglobe was not dark and edgy enough, I felt their adaption of TWGOK was good, but lacking, the one word that best describes them is "mild".
A bit ironical that a has been comments on a has been.

Uhhhhhhm look at Production I.G.? Psycho Pass, GITS, AoT, etc, etc. They sell frgging thousands. But that's for a reason that its I.G., they have some crazy awesome way of making anime that always has me like I NEED TO BUY THIS.

Manglobe is not big enough to be their own investor. So it's not like they have much of a choice when production committees--who owns the show and who receives the revenue--are shopping around for studios and smaller studios like Manglobe need to compete on lower contract pricing. Of course that means all over budget expenses during production comes out of their pocket and they probably low-balled their contracts too much as indicated by their debt mentioned in the previous article.

Like him, I am really saddened by the news. Not only because theres no way TWGOK will have S4 now (but the chances before was slim anyways) but ugh they're a unique studio imo.

Wait, so Manglobe, the studio behind TWGOK and Mashiroiro Symphony, is gone?!

I think Tamiki may have "seen the ending" by the time he found out that Manglobe was about to go out of business.

My thoughts exactly.
Well, I won't be forgetting Manglobe anytime soon. TWGOK seasons 1-3 and the OVAs are sitting on my shelf.

I enjoyed that show greatly. I still hope that someday somehow someone will decide to pick the series up and animate the rest of the manga... A very long shot, but it would be nice it that was to happen.

Elsie (エルシィ) is her nickname while Elysia (エリュシア) is part of her full name, so they're both correct, though Wakaki did use the former in the blog post referenced.
