And of course the only way it'll ever be seen in the west is through fansubs, and most likely poor fansubs with overegged dialogue and a tendency to over-insert the internet meme du jour.
As much as I'd love Crunchy or Funi to get the rights and call Harmony Gold's bluff, I suspect that won't happen.
You'd think the production committee would be pissed off with Harmony Gold too, as HG are denying them an income stream.

sadly the latest is most likely to happen with professional subs (just remember prison school).

As much as I despise Harmony Gold I wouldn't want Funi to even touch Macross. Fan subs are far better than the crap they produce.
