Barely had any VA roles anyway. The only ones I recognize is Henrietta from Gunslinger and Airi from Kagaku.

Got into the industry late (at 20), notable roles are few and far between, and quits at only 28.

From a quick glance at the title, I first thought it meant Kana Asumi was retiring. Small heart attack averted once I read the full title. |

People's comments in this thread are just another reminder of how difficult it is to stay in the Japanese seiyuu industry.
"Quitting? Eh, she didn't voice anything I knew or liked so I don't care. This isn't newsworthy." Yup, that's harsh. Some people complain that it's the same names in every series, but there are also thousands of people like Akutsu trying to make a living in the same industry. Most, as we can see, don't make it big. Good luck to Akutsu in her future pursuits. |

I doubt Kana Asumi would quit any time soon. She's tied up in quite a few big franchises after all despite having relatively few roles each year. Well, working!! has ended and Non Non Biyori doesn't seem to be able to make another season so it's really just Neptunia ( game ) and Nisekoi ( anime ) that's she's tied up in... but eh... Maybe Madoka as well, since that's supposedly still a thing according the Shaft but her role in that was relatively minor. |
