Huh. I am curious.

I can't stand Watase's writing, but I love her concepts and part of her execution. I hated Miaka and a good portion of the progression in FY (so much potential), but maybe this will work.

While I'm glad to have seen the series, I think half the pleasure of it came from reacting to it with friends and the on-line community at the time.

"Wait--why are you leaving her there? Isn't that tiger still in the bushes somewhere?"
"Couldn't you try stabbing your sword-hand first instead of your heart?"
"Gah! Spoilers in the preview!"
"Gah! Spoilers in the episode title!"
"Another insufficiently motivated suicide attempt? That's just your solution to everything, isn't it, Miaka?"
"Doggonit, Tamahome, you can't go running off again yet! It's only one episode since you swore you'd never leave her side!"

I half-expected the strap line to read "Not a repost from 1999".

When I entered the talkback there were only two posts, and I half-expected them to read "MIAKA!!!" and "TAMAHOME!!!"

Huh.
I'm pretty happy there's a Fushigi Yuugi musical, but honestly, I was hoping for another pretty stageplay like the recent one featuring Golden Bomber's Kyan Yutaka as Tamahome.

Hopefully the characters will look similar to the original.
