Good to see this column back for this season. I was getting nervous thinking that it might have gone away.

Quote: | But if such a series is going through a low-quality filler arc, it will get low rankings that are not indicative of the true overall quality of the series. |
I.e. Shippuden. Unfortunately Shippuden doesn't have Chaos dragon to put something under it. "You don't have Chaos Dragon to kick around anymore" to paraphrase Nixon. I think it says something about the quality of the season that a bunch of shows are above Gintama, which was consistently in the top three for last seasons ratings. And it's not like it's in a low quality filler arc, again like Shippuden. Hurry up and finish the filler arc already, Shippuden! The manga's been over for a while. You don't need filler, and we certainly don't want it.

If no one else wants to, I'll be that guy
Chivalry has consistently been ranked better than Asterisk. Sure, they're both bottom of the barrel, but you take what you get!

Some of the shows I thought would get a high position in the Charts, didn't. I would like to think that a show like Shingeki! Kyojin Chūgakkō, which is quite funny, didn't place as high due to the abundance of other, better shows (Noragami Aragoto, Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen, One-Punch Man, and more).

Hey, hey now. While they aren't pieces of gold nuggets, they are quite a few steps above being in the lowest grouping (although Asterisk seems to try its hardest by sticking to the painfully-obvious tropes). I think Rakudai can be placed towards more of "the center of the barrel," and it would seem that the general opinion is similar (at least on the Weekly Chart, that is).

Surprised at the high rank of perfect insider, I would totally love to know how many person rated it and the score distribution on that (I know, won't happen).
Similarly I'd expect lower score for gundam, not because of its quality but because I was expecting it would have a wide appeal and so would have a fairly low average score. But then again there's very few actual gundam fight, so maybe its winning over the non mehc fan.
One punch man, for the most hyped show of the season is doing ridiculously well. Keep it up

Oh okay so these results are not official and are opinionated.. I was a bit worried when I saw Owarimonogatari for #1 spot. As soon as I saw it I knew something was not correct lol

They both make me feel like I'm watching the same thing.

I was thinking more of the Cumulative Rankings, where they're both among the bottom 5. Opinion-wise, I agree with you on Rakudai, and general opinion on it seems to be turning too, with episode 3 ranking higher than it had gotten before, and I think episode 4 will probably do good as well.

At this point, it seems like Noitamina has sort of grabbed it's own audience, and what those people seem to want from their anime is stuff like The Perfect Insider. And it is giving them those things, very well executed. The rating seems to reflect that.

Too bad we can't see this week's to find out how episode 4 did. Asterisk has been relying on well-known tropes and high productions values. But for me Rakudai is my favorite. Silver Link draws such beautiful backgrounds and settings, and the action isn't to be overlooked either. Between the two shows, I've rewatched Rakudai more than twice for each episode because I really enjoy it and I'm engaged. Asterisk, I've only rewatched mainly for it's ED song. For the episode itself? I see it once and that's it. The OST in both shows are good. Asterisk has Rasmus Faber but Rakudai has the guy that did music on Code Geass on staff.

These ranking are starting to remind me of the stock market. The big companies(long term series in this case) like naruto are losing business due to the latest stocks(fillers) falling while one peice is climbing the ladder, and gintama starts to have trouble with competition. The new products (this season only anime) are rapidly raceing for the top and quickly picking up the interest of the fans. And as some instantly sink.
This may be a strange way to veiw it but that's just how it looks.

Is there a reason why "Is the order a rabbit??"/ "Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka??", Fafner Exodus S2 and maybe others not on the list?

To be fair, it doesn't state that only the shows being reviewed are on there, but it's clear enough from context.
