Oh boy...the debate about if loli and shota content should be legal begins again. Honestly this is [expletive] stupid. This content doesn't hurt real children, in fact it hurts no one and there are no links to people who view this content eventually will go hurt real children.

I have no idea how stuff like that works, now that this lady "suggests" that how likely is it that they will actually do that in Japan?

Except when it's shown to a child who can't tell the difference and used to justify said acts like a tool

@Catsplay Yeah, I agree fully. Real life cp is one thing, but manga is another.
@Keveelinu The UN doesn't really have any power, but the fact they would even suggest it makes me mad.

You can claim the same about showing a child violent movies and video games and try brain washing them to commit murder. This content isn't meant for children in the first place obviously, and someone else using it for devious purposes shouldn't get the content banned from the people that enjoy it in a legal way.

I believe Japan should do whatever they want and westerners should not try to force their beliefs on their culture. Don't like it, look the other way. There's countries doing far worse shit that you should be worried about, instead of worrying about imaginary drawings.

What does this have to do with banning fake child porn?

The whole loli ban garbage has been going on for a while in Japan. Nothing some no name irrelevant dutch lawyer spews forth is really going to accomplish anything special.
It boils down to one group of people find it disgusting and one group of people don't. I'm of the opinion that if I don't like something I simply wont read it. Others feel the need to play the part of the moral police and aim to regulate what they find objectionable.

I'll admit I watched a really weird hentai last night that involved a teacher and an elementary student. Didn't do anything for me (except weird me out a little...don't see the appeal of completely undeveloped girls), but I can imagine some people enjoying it. But I don't think seeing that would make someone think "Wow, I really want to go screw an elementary school kid". I COULD see someone who was already interested or active in child pornography enjoying that stuff and then acting on it, but for those people it wouldn't have mattered if they'd seen an anime/read manga, they were going to commit the act anyways.
But the fact of Japan not taking real life child pornography seriously is a different issue. Something should be done to change their attitude towards offenders, but I really don't see banning manga/anime helping change people's minds.

As expected, everyone read the headline and sprinted for the comment section without any attempt to comprehend the article.

No you can't claim that because violent video games and movies to create child soldiers is too round about in that case you hand them a gun and just tell them to shoot sexual acts are completely different and showing a child that content is the easiest way to justify those actions to a child

Yeah I doubt anything will happen. People all over have been bitching about lolis for a while now and it's not banned or anything yet.

Get off your god damn moral high horse. Pretty sure you can justify the murder itself by telling the child that its okay to kill people (By showing people getting killed in games). It's the same freaking concept. And way to ignore the entire second half of what I said. The minority using a work of fiction to do bad things shouldn't get the content banned for everyone enjoying it legally.
