Even as a person who knows nothing about making model airplanes, that was pretty damn cool! These guys did a great job.

Awesome. I'm glad this guy finally got to live out his dream 30 years in the making.
I'm curious if anyone will try to make a working model of the GERWALK or Battroid modes?

That was an epic sight! The safe landing is also breathtaking.

I get the feeling this is not a novice-friendly design...

So awesome, a bit unstable on the liftoff, but probably because of the landing strip. I'd love to have one.

Highway to the danger zone! Anyway a RC plane company should really mass produce them.

Glad he got it to fly and it flies really well!
But I'm surprised he didn't integrate thrust vectoring and elevons into the design to help with pitch control and flight stability. (From the video it appears his flaps were non-functional).
Though Kudos nontheless! /clap

Surprised this works as the variable wings are fixed swept in this model when having them straight is for take off, landing and low speed flight.

Do you have any idea how complicated this would be?
Not to mention it would be impossible to control without a flight computer.

... Unless they pay a lot of money to the original owners for license fee. Not that I am saying it would be profiteable...

Harmony Gold needs to fly away and take their patent trolling elsewhere.
