I thought this was exclusive on Crunchyroll?

Well, those that have subscribed to Funimation's streaming website will at least be able to watch it sooner while it's still airing...

As someone who isn't very savvy into how things work would Funimation streaming the anime for aniplex mean that Funimation would handle the physical release as well? Or would it still be AoA? Considering the first post does this also make it more of a lock to receive a dub?
Looking forward to watching this when it releases and buying it on bluray. Hopefully it gets the dub treatment too |

Unfortunately, no. The series is still licensed by Aniplex, and Funimation is strictly streaming it. This is a similar case as to where Funimation streamed High Earth Defense Club Love, while PonyCan owned the physical/dub rights. |

As we learned last season with God Eater, that term "exclusive" can be rather elastic when Aniplex is involved. I expect in this case, it will again be a timed exclusive, in the same manner that Daisuki's stream for the English-speaking countries and Latin America is delayed one week from CR's stream. |

They already have a series about a school for children with sci-fi/magic powers with a pink haired heroine that's kind of a bitch this season!

Whaaaaat? Funimation should not do this because people are going to assume that Aniplex USA will relinquish distribution rights to them.

I wish that series had a different name. I keep expecting to see Gauls, Romans, and Magic Potion.

How do you expect to see them such a title? |

Thanks for the answer! That's what I figured this was just the first time I read Funimation streaming a Aniplex titles myself so was curious if was some kind of partnership as a few of my Funimation home releases have the Aniplex logo on them. Hopefully this title is deemed worthy enough for Aniplex to dub it for the home video releases as I don't mind paying AoA prices if a dub is included. Slightly off topic but is Saekano and Nanana's Buried Treasure ever going to get home video releases from AoA? |

I imagine Saekano will be released in the first half of 2016, probably sub-only. But Nanana's seems to be in the same physical release limbo that Day Break Illusion and Samurai Flamenco are. |

@Kadmos1
Asterix the Gaul is a French comic book. It is long running and fairly well known. |
