EXTREME ripoff. Its selling on Amazon for $98 for 4 whole episodes.
$300 for a crappy anime sheesh.. They should be embarrassed. |

And no, I don't find the series bad, as the way you put it, its fine for what it is when I saw it. Also, you're gonna have to deal with it as this is the norm for PonyCan's products (and prices) being more or less a direct competitor with AoA. |

Streaming =/= Physical Media.
Show was good, but not $200+ of Collector's Editions good. Been giving my money to distributors that price with the North American market and do not seek to change that market to suit themselves. No problems dealing with it here, thank you very much. Mark Gosdin |

I use Funimation, Crunchyroll, and some shady streaming sites. I almost always buy the BD/DVDs when available. 250+ titles and counting. I just don't know why some studios think they crap gold for parts of a series.

Any sales figures for this & YYiaH, perchance? I feel like laughing, or crying, at them.

That is brilliant. Except they forgot Oda Nobunaga. |

Super-quick release, like 2 months behind Japan, with Japanese video quality and nearly all extras from the JP volumes included. I can't see how that is a ripoff. |

I can't say the exacts but I can guarantee that the answer is quite poor for what they were planning. interestingly enough dengeki gai is more profitable for them then yuki yuna is a hero |

I'm really interested in a source regarding your statements. But it wouldn't be too surprising if Denki did better than YukiYuna, as none were going to move copies in massive amounts, and one of them was a lot more expensive to produce due to the dub. |

Because the average price in the US for a set of 13 episodes for an anime 50-60 bucks, doesn't matter what it is in Japan. Next Gen consoles were/are going for double or triple their retail price in parts of South America, so should Sony and MS raise the price in the US because its the same quality of system as the one they get there. No, because these are completely different and unrelated markets. Just because its the same or similar product does not mean the markets are the same. |

This is a hilariously awful comparison. Consoles are not native to South America whereas anime is native to Japan. Consoles are marked up in overseas markets whereas anime is marked down overseas. Even this show is cheaper in America than it is in Japan. |

The prices are awfully close though. At the current exchange rate, all 6 volumes on Amazon JP would cost ~250 USD (currently 31392 JPY total), and that price could still go down. On the other hand, all three volumes from Ponycan USA can't be bought for less than $216. |

Understandable. But who in their right mind would anyone pay between $18-$21 US dollars or equivalent yen for a single episode?
Mainstream live action (CSI, NCIS etc) / animes with 23 to 24 eps a season go for roughly $30 to $35. I know a lot of anime show will splits a 24 ep season into 2 parts for around $50 per volume and that about my personal limit. |

Don't know about Denki-Gai, but the R1 release of Yuki Yuna Is A Hero was authored and compressed by Justin Sevakis. Do you know if Denki-Gai was a different case? (although I've yet to buy discs authored by Sevakis, by no means am I saying that his work is bad and every other R1 release sucks badly in terms of technical video quality btw.) |
