Does anyone own this and also the Maiden Japan Patlabor Blu-ray sets? Been thinking about asking Paul Champagne to make a Patlabor box for me but I have no idea how thick the Blu-ray cases for the movies are.

The three JP Honneamise Blu movie releases are in the same "squared" type cases as the ones for the Maiden Japan Blu releases of the TV Series 2, 3, & 4.

The OVA Series and Television 1 Series are in cases that are rounded. I'm guessing they used an older case specification?

Combine those seven are 4" (10.16cm)

Still waiting/don't have a blu release for the New Files yet.

No just different manufacturers. I don't think the squared off/ rounded bit is part of the specifications. The cases are interchangeable as long as they hold the right number of disks and fit the cover inserts. I'm not sure if Maiden Japan or the company that presses the disks provides the cases but they apparently buy they in lots and may change from show to show. In the days of singles they would often change between volumes.

^hey, glad I could help. Good luck with your cool case.

@Alan45

this sounds like a case for answerman? Very Happy I own several thousand singles, several hundred pounds of plastic in various shapes, sizes and configurations but for all this time I've only ever regarded them in much the same way I would an ordinary pencil.

Which, despite being an engineering marvel, and one of the greatest inventions EVER, is something that I've taken for granted! Funny how that works. As long as it does what it was designed to do I'm okay. But when it doesn't... Laughing
