Side note but the Picture of her on the Teddy chair thing there was speculation that that was she confirmed that she would do the kingdom hearts 3 opening. Kingdom hearts 3 producer tetsuya nomura drew that and on the left there is a command bar like in Kingdom hearts series.

Meh... while it would fit with the whole 20th anniversary of the series, knowing Anno I'm not going to trust it will be out by then. I'll be surprised if it is though.

Doing the song for KH3 is even more believable now.

Nice to see Utada is singing again, I haven't heard from her since her mother died last year.

I fell in love with "Beautiful World" when I first heard it as the ending theme to Evangelion 1.0. Utada has a stunning voice. I hope she's able to make a comeback on her own terms.
I wonder if she's an Eva fan, considering that it seems to be the only anime she's sung for? |

Utada has been a pretty vocal Eva fan since the reboots began; I remember her talking about reading the manga on her blog once or twice, and she came back from hiatus just to do a song for them because she enjoys the series that much. I don't know what she thought of 3.0, but considering "Sakura Nagashi" was practically the best part of that film, I can't imagine what she'll think up for the final movie. I'm torn between wishing for another acoustic epic and a more electronically influenced pop piece...can't she just make TWO theme songs? That being said, I wouldn't consider any of this more than rote speculation until Utada and/or her dad make some kind of announcement. Between the two of them, I'm pretty sure they have total control over her career, and nothing's happening until they say it is. Besides, even if she does come back to do a single for Evangelion: "Final" without making a full album of it, there's still KH3 to base an album around. /WISHFULTHINKING |

That thumbnail looks like it was taken from a promotional art for the upcoming Yuri Kuma Arashi

Awesome, I hope it all works out that way. I love Hikaru Utada, and it wouldn't be a Rebuild film without one of her beautiful songs! She has such an angelic voice, and her being so fluent in English makes those parts of her songs actually good and blend with the rest of the track, and not just laughable like other artists.

If only her U.S. debut album wasn't so. That was really unfortunate… Nice to finally hear something concrete on the finale's date, plus Utada's continued contribution. Now, if we could only get something more concrete on what the film will actually be about and what its final, final title will be… |

It would be awesome if all 4 films had her songs in them. A 2015 release would actually be pretty decent....but I think it'll get pushed back

Well, we'll see. Hell, we haven't even gotten the 3rd film.
