Is it greedy for me to feel that this boost in Akatsuki no Yona's sales isn't enough? Anime catgrin + sweatdrop

Blue Spring Ride 12 looks to be on track for beating volume 11 in sales, in terms of what was last seen in these rankings. 11 got to around 640k, and 12's 2nd week in this list sees it at 601k. If a number around 1/3 of this week's sales can happen, it'll beat it.

The numbers interested me. Decided to have a look at the numbers that are in these rankings for a couple of other volumes. Pre-anime, the first weeks for 14 and 15, the sales were were around the 40k mark. 14 was just shy of it and 15 almost got to 40.5K.

Volume 16 is the first volume to come out as the anime has been airing, and it's jumped up to being just shy of 63k. It didn't get a huge jump or am I wrong in saying that around 22k isn't huge?

Saying that it increased sales by 1/3 sounds nice, but being around 60K doesn't seem like something the publisher would be happy with off the back of the anime airing. I really hope that the numbers for it continue to rise. I'm really enjoying the anime.

Regarding Akatsuki no Yona, I think the sales boost is just fine. Let's have a look see:

Akatsuki no Yona:
Volume 14: 38,985 (3 days) 68,479 (10 days)
Volume 15: 40,411 (3 days) 70,067 (10 days)
Volume 16: 62,826 (3 days)

Remember, this is the first volume to come out since the anime started airing and all manga are not the same. Some manga get a boost later on, after the anime has ended.

This is only three days of sales. According to daily rankings, Akatsuki no Yona volume 16 will most probably rank next week as well, probably adding another 30k or so maybe. It may even get 40k if we're lucky.

And regarding whether the publisher would be happy about it, I think they would be. Most Hana to Yume series sell around 35k, some much less than that, and Yona is a 2 cour anime so it has a another full cour to attract more buyers. 60k may not seem like a lot but you can't expect all anime to be like say Haikyuu!! or Gekkan Shoujo or Ao Haru Ride. Those were manga which were already selling very well without an anime.

Look at Kamisama Hajimemashita:

Kamisama Hajimemashita!

Volume 11: 28,342(3 days)(failed to rank in second week, sold less than 22,696 copies)
Volume 13: 37,075(4 days) (failed to rank in second week, sold less than 20,782 copies)
(Anime starts)
Volume 14: 43,735(3 days) (failed to rank in second week, sold less than 24,536 copies)
Volume 15: 111,607(12 days)
Volume 16: 92,226(5 days (failed to rank in second week, sold less than 27,893 copies)
volume 17: 142,572(14 days)

It didn't get much of a boost immediately in the next volume after the anime but it's boost got bigger as more volumes came out after the anime ended.

Another example is Karneval. It was a manga which never ranked on Oricon but after the anime it's selling 50-60k while almost none of the other manga in the same magazine is selling that much.
