People i am calling it.. It is going to be a new Anime series i am calling it right now.
I mean a collaboration involving Aniplex? With one of the best Selling Anime series of all time. U know they want to cash in and make a new series. This series is till on to my Watch list but i know enough of how populer it is. So yeah 75% certain this is going to be about a new anime series. |

... Are you serious? That silhouette doesn't look like Kotori at all, her hair is WAY longer. I highly doubt we're getting a Rewrite anime any time soon. It'd be really awesome though. |

And it shall be called Angel Beats! Brotherhood Seriously, if it has to be an anime, I'd rather have a reboot than a sequel. Angel Beats! has the single best ending I've ever seen, and I'd hate to tarnish that with a follow-up (insert your own Madoka Magica Rebellion hand-wringing here). EDIT: Also, did the countdown page replace the massively-delayed Angel Beats! visual novel info page? Could the announcement have something to do with the fate of that project (and if so, why would Aniplex be involved?) Last edited by invalidname on Tue Dec 09, 2014 7:05 am; edited 1 time in total |

I'm pumped. I like Aniplex titles and I like Key titles so this seems like a match made in heaven.

I'll keep hoping for a Rewrite anime, but that seems unlikely... I would be fine with a reboot of Angel Beats though, it had a good idea that just wasn't able to be fully executed in the time it had.

I'm praying for a Rewrite anime but that silhouette doesn't look any of the Rewrite characters. Still we're due for a new Key anime so I'm looking forward to whatever it is!

Yeah, there's no way it's Kotori. Plus, although both are from Key, it is very unlikely to make Rewrite announcement in Angel Beats! page. (Though, if you say it was prototype Kotori, maybe it bears a tiny little similarities.) Anime is very likely, because Aniplex is involved. From the additional new silhouette, perhaps it's a sequel (although I do prefer reboot than sequel). Or maybe prequel. Or OVA. etc And I heard there will be new characters in AB! VN, so maybe this project will serve as introduction to them.
No, that's not the page you're looking for. The page for visual novel is here. The aforementioned page is for anime, so it's is very highly possible that the next project is anime as well. Last edited by shiranehito on Tue Dec 09, 2014 7:33 am; edited 1 time in total |

Keeping in line with KEY/Visual Arts previous adaptations, a new Angel Beats! anime by Kyoto Animation; high possibility of a 2-cour show.

And Key continues its search for a decent company that's not Kyoto Animation.
It's hopeless search... continues. Sure, blame Angel Beats! faults on its runtime, its production, its plotting, its rerunning of the same old clichés that they've done before but even if Clannad did the same sort of stories and situation as Kanon, it still worked as its own show. Are we still working on the delusion that Angel Beats was a good show? It's the one where Jun Maede became anime's M Night Shyamalan, not that he wasn't before because "twist endings" was kind of his thing, just be glad Kyo Ani dialed it back a bit. Is it better that Angel Beats starts off with "they were dead all along"? It was a terrible idea that had "feel, don't think" written all over it. "But it could be great, they just needed more time!" It was funny, it had good music but its core idea was that its cast all died as teenagers... kind of and then ... blank. {Should I spoiler that? The show isn't based on an afterlife, it's just... after life} Who, how, why, what and what for? Don't ask silly questions or any questions for that matter. It's life {not}, there's no meaning to it {yes, there apparently is. How that works out after a cruel and meaningless life is anyone's guess. No, really}. The series contradicted itself so badly and so often that... well, if you saw the show, you know the ending and there's no extra run time in the world that can solve that. Not the essential paradox {not just} but that they have no chemistry. {Yuri, damn it, she's right there! She even has a backstory and character development like she mattered or something!} A Redo? How about an Undo? |

Now that I think about it, Angel Beats came out between Clannad and Little Busters, so maybe after whatever this new thing is we'll get Rewrite.

No way that silhouette is Rewrite. I would expect those images to use the character in their school uniform, and that's nowhere close to Rewrite's uniform. The only chance it would be if that was Chihaya's uniform, but her hairclips are nowhere to be seen.
And I for one am really glad Key is going away from KyoAni. They have been going downhill for a while on my list. |
