Wow, I didn't realize this was still ongoing. I haven't read it in years..... Wonder how things have progressed between Ayase and Kanou.

Same. I think I last read it about 6 years ago. Might read it from the beginning again once it's all out. It'll be interesting to see how I enjoy it now compared with my younger self.

Wow! I stopped reading at like vol 6 of the manga. And after the huge hiatus it went on in 2011, I didn't think they would ever actually finish it. Still hoping someone brings this over someday.

Aww! That's too bad. But I hope it's a good ending because I want to see Kanou and Ayase happy together.

I knew it was ongoing but I was hesitant to pick it up again. I dropped it a few years ago when I got annoyed with the lack of development between the pairing and then looked at it again maybe a year. Still didn't see any development but I had only skimmed it that time so I hope I'm wrong.

Nothing's really changed. DP still does the scans. I just hope the author finally answers the question of how Kanou really met the shrimp before he decided to "save" him. Been reading the series all these years and that dratted question has never been answered yet...lol.

I agree, after all reading the scans are the only way of reading and understanding the manga. But still, I really hope that ether SuBLime or DMP will pick it up for western release. After all, despite the rape scenes, it's still a really awesome manga in terms of both artwork and story wise!

...I should use this whenever Kazuo Koike manga come into question.
Anyway, the art and story sound kinda neat, I just, as a straight man, don't like the actual sex part of this yaoi stuff.

Agreed! While the "squick" factor is high due to the non-con the art is really good, and there are a number of places were the MC works to redeem himself (as well as others). The humor is great as well - Someya! I adore that one. I've got all nine volumes and a few of the doujins too. Getting one of the BL publishing houses to pick this title up would be awesome.

What "squick" factor though? I'm a woman and I don't see anything squicky about being desired by a hot dominating hunk like Kanou, this comics fills all my delicious fantasies.

It doesn't immediately appeal to everyone, however, and there are aspects that make some readers uncomfortable. One is the non-con, another is the scene where Kanou seemingly forces a video for sale (though it never materializes), then there are innumerable instances of office sex where one of the "twins" is left to clean up "evidence" which upsets our MC. Small things that build up over nine volumes to make some, not all, slightly squirmy. Some enjoy that feeling of discomfort, if you consider the dom/sub dynamic it also goes along with the "guilty pleasure" of reading such a book. There are also the self-aware who simply enjoy, i.e. the libertine.
As for domination, Kanou feels too much remorse, I'd much prefer Yamane's character Asami.

But the remorse is also what's good, shows he cares and that he's working on making himself better, which will be shown in the final. I stopped reading Viewfinder long ago exactly for that reason, Asami didn't have enough of a loving side to him for me to care about him.

It's been on and off up to this point. You know he cares, but you don't see enough of his emotion to outwardly tell. It's just the author's way of keeping his mysterious persona. Though I guess that's not for everyone.
