Wow, actually coming to Cincinnati? That doesn't happen very often.

These aren't one-night showings, right?
Seeing the Phantom of the Opera at the Fox on the 31st, which is the same day it opens here in Atlanta. Was able to see this on opening day in Japan, so I'm excited to check out the English version. Truly one of my favorite Ghibli films now, so if you're able to check out these screenings, don't miss it! |

I'm not surprised it's getting wider distribution. I saw it the Melbourne International Film Festival & it's the best Ghibli film since Spirited Away.

I went to Sundance Cinemas' website, and they don't have a theater in Columbus. The facebook page has it listed as Gateway Film Center.

errin: For a Takahata anime in N. American theaters, this is considered wider distribution. Most of his stuff only gets seen on projector screens at Ghibli retrospectives.

The closest showing is almost four hours away in Atlanta . . . I guess I'll have to sit this one out until the BD release.

Crossing my fingers now that I don't have to work on the 24th...
I'm so so happy that we're getting this in norcal but I just wish they would be longer than one day (or at a closer theater to my house. I'm greedy). Don't get me wrong, I really love that I get to see as much anime in the theater as I can but I will still be very sad if I can't see Kaguya (i'm inpatient and can't wait for a dvd version). Now, When Marnie was There.... |

Great to hear it's getting a bit of bigger release. Seems to be picking up some great reviews too. Alas, I'll have to wait to see it when the blu-ray gets put out in Japan - but as this may well be the last new Ghibli movie I'll be seeing for some time, I don't mind a little wait.
I actually expect Marnie, which was very good and much more marketable, to get a fairly large release stateside in a year or so. |

*looks for NY*
Ithaca, of all places. Is Syracuse too much to ask for? We're right in the middle of the state |

Well nice to see it's coming to Baltimore but not in Washington DC (which I lived close to), that's unfortunate for me.

Ian: Oh there's uhh...the other thing is that the uh...the Boston gig has been cancelled.
Nigel: What? Ian: Yeah. I wouldn't worry about it though, it's not a big college town. This is Spinal Tap Guess I'm driving to Providence. |

So did I, at the ピカヂリ Shinjuku, second session (surprised that it wasn't full up). In Adelaide we get 20 screenings of the Japanese version between 27 November and 10 December plus English dub not yet announced, details available via http://www.studioghibli.com.au/. |
