Well for all of those that liked this series, all things must end, but we can always hope for a second season. I personally liked this anime and think that the seiyuus for Saito and Louise were well chosen (being the same as the seiyuus for Shana and the other guy in Shakugan no Shana). I personally felt like they can add more onto this series and hope they do, since ending a jewel in this way (wasn't bad, was actually quite good, but somewhat short and rushed) and still not settling everything (they still haven't returned the ring to the water spirit) leaves for more to be wanted. I personally think this was a very well done series and, except for pacing, was an excellent job. So, what are everyone's thoughts on this?

I've heard a lot of praise for this series, and I have to say I don't really get it. For me, this series has been mediocre from episode one. Most of the characters are stereotypes, the pacing isn't great, and nothing in particular stands out to me as special or interesting. I actually have not seen episode 13 yet, but unless it's absolutely fantastic, I doubt it will change my mind about the entire series.
It's not awful by any means, it has redeeming qualities, and it's an okay way to pass a few hours, but it's hardly deserving of all this applause it's getting. If someone asked me, "Is it worth watching?" I would probably tell them to skip it.

The series is a huge-inside joke for Shakugan no Shana fans, which is why despite being generic it gets a lot of attention. Additionally, the main character Saito isn't a sterotype, which just adds more flavour since he's the polar opposite of SnS' male lead, Yuuji. It's almost as if Yuuji was reincarnated as an arse-kicking commoner with no respect for nobility.

You're delving too much into the story to notice the chemistry between the actors/actresses; specifically, Satoshi Hino, Ayako Kawasumi and Rie Kugimiya. Frankly, aside from Saito being awesome, there's not much to ZnK beyond the interaction between those three thespians.

Yeah, I haven't seen the last episode either (I'll do that in a few hours), but I wouldn't call it a "weak" show either. It didn't have anything amazing, but it really didn't have too many weakpoints either. Personally, I'd just call it 'really solid'; but I too would probably tell anyone but a hardcore otaku to pass on it for the really good stuff.

I don't know this "Shakugan no Shana" show, but I loved Zero no Tsukaima. I eagerly await a followup of some kind. I thought it was funny, heartfelt, and the action was good too.

I saw the last episode yesterday and thought it was a mildly good ending, it at least covered all the bases and didn't leave any questions. I'm pretty sure the girl with the glasses had the ring in her hand, so she'll probably give it to the water spirit.

On dvd? I wouldn't bet a dime against it. On tv? I doubt it. Not that there are any huge content issues, but the series is (currently) only 13 episodes long, and I don't remember ever seeing an anime on CN that was less than 24 (although most of their AS original shows are that short). I think they see it as a waste of investment popularizing such a short run show.
Then there are the minor content issues, which are nothing for AS, but the show is mainly geared towards a late toonami-appropriate audience, but with considerably fanservice. Not a deal-breaker of course, but it's probably unlikely.

Compare this with the ending of Escaflowne. Almost opposites...

I finished this a month or so ago and thought it was pretty good, it was fun to watch (although i was hoping Saito would like go crazy ass on her and her room and run away for one episode) but that didn't happen and all in all it was just a normal show that can fill anyones harem/comedy addiction for a few hours until something UUUUUBER GOOD comes out
