Might give this a try. I liked Vampire Knight, even though it ended up not quite living up to it's potential. The female protagonist ended up being the worst, IMHO. Maybe this story will be better in that regard. Speaking of editorial interference, I sensed this may have occurred in Vampire Knight as well.

Only 3 volumes, though? Well, that might be a good thing.
