So glad they are still accepting donations after this. Wasn't able to donate in time because of timing reasons but i'll donate as soon as i'm able.

Actually if they have just another 750, 000 dollars they would expand it to be a movie production, i hope it does well.

Yayy!! See you guys next year ... So right now we're guaranteed 2 OVAs but they're talking about trying to make it into a film.
Pledged 370. 100 for the BD box, 200 for the figure, 55 for the art book and 15 for the poster.
Who else pledged?

Nice. Hope the OVA will be well-received enough for Under the Dog to become at least a one-cour

Donors have really made an incredible rally over the past few days, two weeks ago it was questionable whether or not they'd fund. I'm guessing a load of people were interested but didn't want to commit in case it didn't fund (even though if it hadn't they wouldn't lose any money). In any case, congrats to all involved; now that they've got a proven audience of at least 12,000 backers, I have a hunch it'll be easier to get traditional financial backing with fewer strings.

Great! I just hope that they truly deliver on the story front of things considering all the things I've heard and the kind of hype that's been built up for it.

That's exactly the problem with kickstarters. You don't know what you're going to get until its done. You have absolutely no control over if the final product is something you'll actually want to spend money on.
It's great that this got funded and I hope it'll deliver, too many kickstarter horror stories to put my money up front on it though.

Could a 12 or 13-episode run or a movie of Under the Dog be a possibility as a result of making it this far?

no it takes at least 3mill to make a 13 eps series. even then, that's like the bare minimum.

I gave it money! I didn't do it right away, however, because I didn't want to crowd my balance sheet any more during my very expensive August. I only contributed enough to get a Blu-ray copy; I thought about adding $55 for the hardcover artbook, but as it soared past its goal and I thought about it more, that seemed less compelling.
I'm pleased that it got past that long doubtful stretch in the middle and succeeded. In a month went from just some confusing poster at Otakon to handily beating its funding goal. There are reasons for my to be uneasy about what might come of it, but I liked the idea and intentions well enough to take that risk. I'm willing to pay a little to see something that might get me that old-school OVA feel and I'm a well-known hopeless sucker for girls-with-guns.
What I'm most curious about is what they'll do with the nearly $300,000 surplus that they got. Their only stretch goals were well above that level, but that's too much more money to be inconsequential. I'll be forthright: I hope that some of it goes toward funding an English dub, but I'd like to think that they could add a few more minutes of animation too.

I believe that they've talked about, and purported had some interest from, investors funding additional work beyond this first OVA. I think that what was funded here, provided that it succeeds, is almost meant to serve as a pilot to encourage interest in future productions.
