Ping Pong barely made it to the list although I am happy that Jojo SC is top 3 this week. Black Butler did alright I guess.

A bit of a shame about Wixoss, but atleast the anime did its job, the card game is highly profitable.
Ping pong got lucky with the oricon changes(top 20 animation in the pre-full list on Tuesday). Now we don't have to wait a few days for its full numbers.

Love Live! continues to dominate albeit with lower sales than the previous volumes.
Is the Order a Rabbit? is doing quite well; hopefully we get a 2nd season.

Nagi No Asukara doing this bad is really disappointing.
I can tell they spent so much time animating, directing, and scriptwriting more than the usual P.A. Works stuff and this one sold so badly. Although this is just opinion Nagi no Asukara was P.A. Works' best work hands down too.
I guess ill just support by buying the blu ray box once it releases in the states.

Not that buying the US BD will support it with much more than breadcrumbs...

A 4k+ average is not doing badly, a lot of series wish they could do that good.

The difference between the number of copies of the second volume (41,865) and third volume (41,482) that were sold on their first week is pretty much negligible at their level so I wouldn't really say that the sales are going down (volume 1 managed to get 100k+ due to the event ticket application, a number that volume 7 will at least come close to matching since it probably also has an event ticket application since they're probably doing the same thing they did with the first season).

Ah, okay. I must have missed volume 2's sales, thanks for letting me know. I'm glad the series has settled at around 40,000 copies then. & volumes 1 and 7 will bring up the average.

Remember that for Rederoin nothing above 3k can be considered as doing bad sales-wise. 4k is of course bad and disappointing for Nagi no Asukara because P.A. Works most likely expected it to sell 7-10k, and there are shitty shows, like The irregular at magic high school, doing better.

I'm glad you guys are posting 20 results on the BD list now, 10 was never enough. Or was it just because so much was sold this week?
Also it's about time something knocks Frozen off the number 1 slot.
WCW continues to do not good enough, Gochiusa does well enough to hopefully secure another season, and Sidonia hopefully justifies its existence once more.

The irregular at magic high school Nyūgaku-hen 2 (Limited Complete Pressing) 8,752
haha take that , Nagi no Asakura is good but it's not great or amazing and it's reflected in it's mediocre sales
Mahouka is one of Madhouse's top sellers :O madhouse's shows don't really sell all that well, they're usually just to promote the source material e.g. Death Note, HxH , NGNL

Oricon changed its Tuesday ranking to include a top 20 animation ranking. The full list remains unchanged.

How is it disapointing? We have no idea if P.A works expected it to sell above 7k, I also don't think they even funded it.
And not everything needs to be in the top 10-15%(10k+) for it be doing good, so why compare it mahouka? 3k+ is above average, I don't think something doing average has ever been a bad thing for non-sequel tv anime. Its above the mean average of Autumn series.
If you think the majority of tv anime do badly in sales, then what kind of standard for disc sales are you using?

I never said that the majority of tv anime is doing badly, but apparently to you selling 3k calls for a big celebration.
Quote: | then what kind of standard for disc sales are you using? |
1.5-3k - Bad, production will probably lose money
4-5k - Okay, production will recoup investment
8-10k - Good, production will make money
15-20k - Very good, production can make a sequel
30-45k - Amazing, production can make 2-3 sequels
Anything above 50k is a potentially money-printing franchise
So, what is your standard Rederoin?

You shouldn't tie recouping an investment to the number of sales - eg, Kill Me Baby managed to make enough selling less than a thousand average to warrant an(admittedly even cheaper made) OVA, where as Nichijou was a painful bellyflop despite having nearly thrice the sales. It varies drastically for every series.
