The anime i'm talking about is #6818.
the title is:Yamato Nadesico Shichihenge but there is a small error,it should be:Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge. "Nadesico" should really be Nadeshiko. "Shichihenge" = Shichi Henge. Since there is no such word as "Shichihenge" in Japanese. |

There's also no such thing as spaces in Japanese..
Nadeshiko and Nadesico are both valid romanizations. Nadeshiko is more 'correct' according to the romanization scheme I favour, but Nadesico is more commonly used according to Google (probably due to Kidou Senkan Nadesico). |

Inserting spaces appropriately into romanized Japanese is not that simple. There's no exact equivalent "word" in Japanese as in Latin-based alphabetic languages. Rather, when romanizing a Japanese sentence, most often a phrase -- a meaningful structure in the sentence, either a noun, an adjective, or a verb, consists of one or several characters -- is considered as one "word" when romanized. Common auxiliary kana like no (の, 's or of (genitive case)), to (と, and), and he/e (へ, towards) are often independent in romanization. Now, back to this specific case: Shichihenge or Shichi Henge. While shichi (七, seven) and henge (変化, change/transformation) are independent phrases/words in their own right, the combined, three-character phrase shichihenge (七変化) has its own new meaning (in addition to the literal "seven changes"): the different faces of a person or an object under different circumstances, particularly used to describe the how different a girl looks like when applied with different clothings and makeup. Therefore, in order to describe how to reshape the female protagonist by the four handsome bishounen, I'd rather use the single word shichihenge as part of its romanized title, unless there are evidences showing the official romanization (licensing page of tankoubon, official merchandise, etc.) using two words instead of one. |
