Jojo parts 1&2 are going to be the Jojonium editions, and from all the applause at the panel, they're going to be Hard cover

Great news! I plan on picking them up when they come out, even though I wasn't too fond of the first two parts...

So this was their major news regarding JoJo? I'm glad the manga is getting a fuller release, but this wasn't what I was hoping for admittedly.

I know, right? It was supposed to be big news, but the only thing that was even news was that they're going to be releasing Battle Tendency.
This also means that we still don't know who is handling the JJBA: Stardust Crusaders anime

If not Viz (since their anime section of the panel was rushed, so stuff might've been missed(they're doing another on on Sunday))
probably Sentai

But the fact that the first three episodes are being previewed on Saturday is still a big deal and that means "somebody" has the anime license.
Usually I wait until the end of a convention weekend to have a better idea of who has what because so much stuff get revealed in little nuggets here and there and isn't just contained in just one industry panel.

I'm just...so happy right now...I think I need to go...squirt tears...brb.
VMRSFJTOWLDM YES. I KNEW IT, THIS IS EPIC NEWS. And omnibuses of YU GI OH (for which I only care about the first part mainly) and GYO (a manga I've wanted to get for a while, hopefully there will be some great new feature)! And it still remains to be seen about the Jojo anime; can't wait to see who the lucky winner of the license is.
I guess this means my plans to collect Jojo parts 1 and 2 in Japanese are effectively rendered useless, or will be this time next year. I have vol. 2 for part 1 and a volume of the bunkoban edition for part 2. Actually; I do need those pretty covers. So there's that.
And let's hope Viz doesn't screw something up with these releases, I guess...

That's what I'm hoping for too!
It's also worth noting that they announced the license rescue to the girl who leapt through time manga (digital only)

Good point. I just assumed that they'd drop all the announcements on one subject (i.e. JJBA) at once. Hopefully the next few days will prove to be just as exciting as today.

I doubt it's Sentai. You know the 3 mains of Stardust Crusaders are being played by Patrick Seitz (Dio), Matthew Mercer (Jotaro Kujo), and Richard Epcar (Joseph Joestar), right? With both Viz and these actors residing in the West Coast, and how much of a fuss is being made over the manga release now, Viz really does have the biggest chance being the licensee. Heck, even FUNi has a better chance of being the licensee than Sentai does, as they at least have featured those three actors in their dubs at least once before.

Same. Well depends on what you mean by first part. Before the card game took over? In that case, same here. But i already have it, so eh.

Sentai have used West Coast studios before, so i wouldn't count them out. Its more likely to be them or Viz than FUNimation, since they only use other studios when theres other factors (keeping an established cast or due to the Japanese companies handling the dub).

I thought Viz was going to release the anime since they're dubbing a few episodes.

I am aware that Sentai has used West Coast studios for dubs before, but I've thought they've only done so for rather special cases, like reprising cast members in an anime from some already-adapted IP. (Persona 4: The Animation comes to mind, with Sentai using the original game's English voice actors.) With no English dub precedent other than that old OVA full of a bunch of unknown VAs, I'd think it most likely for Sentai to dub in Houston. And this isn't even considering yet how Jojo would likely be too long and too costly a series for Sentai to handle!

That's the issue, we don't know who is dubbing those episodes; It wasn't announced who is doing the dubbing or releasing, Viz or otherwise.
