Oh wow, I can't say I'm entirely surprised though.

Both of these series are so hugely popular but I've never been able to get interested in either of them. :/
I suppose I'm a bit weird.

I'm not going to be surprised if it sells 50+ million by the end of this year.
When SAO II comes, that's when AoT will have competition for who gets more ANN news stories for the rest of this year.

Congrats to AOT! I'm so happy to see it become so successful and in my opinion it's well deserved.

Can't say I'm a surprised, multiple volumes in the same period and still riding relatively well off of the anime boost compared to 1 One Piece volume because of Oda's breaks. I would say I expect (and hope) One Piece will top the yearly rankings because the current arc is out of this world but it depends on Oda's health.
That said SnK's success still continues to bemuse me. KnB and Magi in the top 5 deserve it while Naruto, well I am surprised it's still up there.

So, the king has been dethroned. Congrats to Attack on Titan! It's easily one the best shonen series in recent memory.

@ gilnokoibito :
Eehh....Not really, I mean I love both of them(despite their flaws and cliches, etc) but I know lots of people who also didn't like/didn't care for those 2 titles or other popular shonen series like Naruto, Bleach, KnB, etc for whatever reasons despite all of those series are still extremely popular too in Japan till this day, everyone has their own taste/preference anyway
Congrats to AoT and OP and to all other titles on the Oricon charts too, not surprised seeing Naruto in the top5 either, since whatever anyone says, its sales in Japan till the latest vols is obviously still consistent/stable around 800-1 mil K per vol eventually, probably drop a bit from its peak time but nonetheless still consistent among many other titles.
Happy to see both KnB and Magi too in top5 and considering Haikyuu!! nice manga boost from the anime recently (loving this series a lot ), I'm hoping to see Haikyuu!! too in top10 full list sales by the end of this year.

Well whatever, AoT will end soon anyway. In the long run, One Piece will probably overtake it again in a year or two.

You know, even in the face of AoT's immense popularity, I have not read either the manga or watched the anime and quite frankly, I have no intention of doing either until I feel good and ready.
I am not good and ready.

I completely agree, I would love to see Hiakyuu!! creep into the top 10. Extremely happy Magi in the top 5; a glorious series.
