Received my Blu-Ray of the PMMM Movie Rebellion. Just finished watching it a little while ago.
I quite enjoyed it, despite misgivings from the theatrical reviews last year. Yeah, I am still not happy with how they treated Homura, but at least they gave us a reason for it, that wasn't totally out of bounds.
Hate Kyubei, its all his fault.
Still would have liked a continuation of the Law of Cycles story line, but understand the pressures or mandates the writers where under.
Don't agree with those that say, this was a proper ending. Rebellion calls out for a sequel, to resolve the main issue.
Because of Kyubei's manipulations and worse, the wants and needs of Homura's were twisted into evil. Naturally, Homura's friends and Madoka will want to save her and themselves. If you think about it, Homura was the only one left alive at the end of the TV series, and because of Kyubei, she threw away her chance at being with Madoka forever. So the next movie will be about Homura's redemption, taking care of the Kyubei's (though it looks like Homura did that already), and finally bringing Homura home to Madoka's pantheon.
As to the actual BD set itself, appears to be just as good as the previous movie set import.
Not counting the physical extras, the set is pretty skimpy on video extras, which to me is a bit surprising for how popular this franchise is. The only video extras are a clean OP and ED. Didn't see the trailers or commercials that were mentioned on the Right Stuff site. Perhaps they are on the DVD, haven't looked at that yet.
The three clear files arrived in great shape, they didn't get bent or anything bad, especially considering they are far larger than the BD set itself.
Great set for any Madoka fan, quite sparse on video extra's, and as previous viewers have said, a visual feast for the eyes.
Forgot to mention, I liked the little BeBe insert, explaining how to remove the disks from the case, without fingerprinting or breaking them. It is the little things that make this a great set.

I think it's a pretty good movie. Nothing masterpiece level like the original stuff and I wouldn't consider it part of the "canon", it's much more like a fan fiction that became a movie.

A lot of "fanservice," too, in the original meaning of giving fans what they want. The transformation sequence runs for three or four minutes with the girls mimicing super sentai teams. There's also the gunfight.
I watched it with a friend after we reviewed episodes 10 and 12 of the original series. We both thought the movie lacked the depth of story in Urobuchi's original series script.

Those of you who have received the BD set, did you have the same issues with the lack of commercials and trailers?

If you bought the LE version there should have been a second BD, containing all the extras including those trailers and commercials. I'm surprised you haven't checked that disc out yet. Unfortunately, there aren't any subtitle options for any of the extras.

Some questions regarding the film and its ending
so, in the end Homura was able to create a world where the magical girls could live once again, including Madoka..
but what about the last scene, the one that Homura falls off a cliff
The world she created was just an illusion?
The law of the cycle still exists, that's why Kyubey looks defeated ?
Why would the girls become Homura's enemies??

@Akaname
Thanks you were right, I just blindly assumed it was the DVD. Forgot this is a BD set only, since it is an import. Thanks.
@Noctis313
She actually did it twice, once in her witch's egg mind, and second when she converted the universe.
Don't think it is an illusion. Believe it is her own pocket universe fiefdom. The law of cycles still exist in the other universes, but not in Homura's personal universe.
Blame Homura's change to evil on her imprisonment by the Kyubei (who knows just how long they kept her imprisoned in her mind. My bet it was a very long time.) and on the mind games they played.
I also think the Kyubei went from amoral to evil, since they broke their contract with Homura with their human experimentation. One might think too, that perhaps, they had a hand or actively pushed Homura into witch mode to achieve their ends.
So now Homura's a twisted creature, who wants to keep a moment in time, frozen forever. So hopefully, the sequel will be about the redemption of Homura by her magical girl friends.
